Continuing education is required. We all know that. But enjoying it? That’s another story.
For a long time, I treated education like homework. Something I had to get through so I could check a box and move on. That mindset made learning feel heavy and boring.
What changed was realizing that I didn’t have to learn the way everyone else does.
Now, I choose classes based on curiosity, not pressure. If a topic makes me think, “That sounds interesting,” I follow that instinct. I also stopped overloading myself. One good class that actually sticks is better than five rushed ones I forget.
I’ve also started pairing education with small rewards. My favorite snack. A quiet hour without distractions. Sometimes even blocking the time on my calendar like a client appointment so I don’t skip it.
Education doesn’t have to feel like punishment. When it’s aligned with your goals and interests, it can reignite your passion and remind you why you got licensed in the first place.
