Trends move fast in the beauty industry. One week it’s everywhere, the next it’s gone. As licensed professionals, we sit right in the middle of excitement and responsibility.
I love trends. They keep the industry creative and fresh. But I’ve learned to filter them before bringing them into my chair.
Here’s what I ask myself:
Is this trend realistic for my client’s lifestyle?
Will it still look good in six weeks?
Can I maintain it ethically and safely?
Some trends pass all three tests. Others don’t. When a trend doesn’t make sense, I explain why in plain language. Clients usually appreciate honesty more than hype.
Timeless services are the ones that clients rebook. Trends can be fun additions, but your foundation should always be built on techniques that work long-term.
Balance is the goal. Stay inspired, but stay grounded.
