Cyber Monday

Host a great one-day online sale. Put your products on sale for 24 hours and make sure you talk about the short duration of the sale. Email your subscribers a coupon code good towards a service they book online that day. Look into affiliate programs with your retail lines and share your affiliate link so your customers can take advantage of your retail company promotions while you earn a small commission.

Host a Holiday Event

Collaborate with another local business to host a fun holiday event. Offer product discounts, have haircut/style/color giveaways where participants sign up for your emails or text messages to enter. Play Christmas music and offer snacks and activities like hot cider, mini makeovers, product discounts, quick holiday craft projects, a hot chocolate bar, and express blow outs.

Make it free and offer a few paid activity options or have participants register ahead of time and purchase tickets. Online registration is also a great way to grow your email list!

Not ready to host an in-person event? Set up a curbside holiday sale. Your customers can shop online for their favorite products at a promotional price, then pick them up during a designated time. Include a fun surprise freebie to make the whole experience something they’ll look forward to again next year.

After you pick your favorite ideas, share them!

  • Send out info and event details in your email newsletter.
  • Post multiple times on your social channels. Use different formats (stories, reels, photo carousels) to maximize reach. You can post graphics, images of your salon, or just talk about your holiday promotions on video.
  • Partner with other local businesses to cross promote what you’re doing. Look for other self-care businesses like massage parlors, tattoo artists and yoga studios who serve a similar audience but are not your direct competition. Offer to share what they’re doing with your audience too!

Finally, make a plan. Pick what promotions you will do. Put event dates on your calendar, create your to-do list and order packaging and products. You CANNOT talk about your promotions too much, as long as you focus on the benefits.

Quarter four is the biggest shopping season of the year! Make a promotional plan to maximize your profits and set your shop up for success in the coming new year.
